Alumni Charter Members**Darwin Gushard, Dennis Heckman, Ricky Hartwig, Kathi Huenink, David Nosal, Cliff Obbink, Kurt Kechely, Allen Ullman, Phillip Severson, Cherrine Gana Wheeler, Dennis Russell, James Stewart	Norris High School was created in 1965. It was the result of consolidation of the Cortland, Firth, Hickman, Roca and Panama school districts. In 1969 a new elementary building was completed on 160 acres the newly formed District had purchased at 68th and Princeton Road. The Junior/Senior High School was completed and ready for occupancy in February 1970. Since that time the District has seen constant growth which has resulted in seven expansions. The campus now includes three separate buildings for elementary, middle school and high school students as well as an all-weather track, football field, softball complex cross-country course, greenhouse and soccer field. The District recently purchased an additional 120 acres across 68th Street for future expansion.	WANTED: Enthusiastic, energetic Norris alumni . . . . . . . . . Upcoming Events TITAN TWISTER GOLF TOURNAMENT - due to wet weather this event has been postponed to Monday, August 2, 2010.		In Memory of Deceased Alumni This past week we lost two Norris Alums who will be greatly missed. Byron Krauter (Class of 1972), our 2009 Hall of Fame recipient passed away on Tuesday, June 22, 2010 in Round Rock Texas after a battle with cancer. Randy Huenink, Class of 1975, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 19, 2010 To honor Byron, Randy and all the Norris Alumni who are deceased, we have created a memorial page. Recent Events Titan Banquet The Titan Banquet was held Friday, November 20, 2009 at the Yankee Hill Country Club. Honorary Alumni honored: Alumni Association President Phil Severson presenting the Honorary Alumni Award to Donna Gana Hall of Fame recipient - Byron Krauter Annual Tailgate The Alumni Association held their annual tailgate party before the Nebraska City Game.		Hall of Fame 2009 - Byron Krauter '72 2008 - Rodney Douglass '68 2007 - Rick McNeese '67 and Gary Lesoing '71 2006 - Sean Doolittle '89 and Lee Thurber '90 2005 - David Nosal '85, Rodney Poskochil 71, DeAnna Talcott '69 and Leonard VerMaas '69 2004 - Chris (Bouma) Anderson '79, David Kats '65 and Rodney Liesveld '68 The Alumni Association established the Norris High School Hall of Fame to honor and celebrate distinguished Alumni. Selection for the induction into the Hall of Fame is based on professional and personal accomplishments, community service, and/or special or unique situations, which qualify a graduate as being distinguished. In addition, criteria for selection of inductees may include a single meritorious contribution to society or a lifetime career of superior accomplishment. Eligible alumni must have graduated 15 years prior to being nominated. Any two individuals may make nominations. There are no formal nominating documents; however, both nominators must sign a nomination. As much evidence as possible that the nominee is deserving of the Hall of Fame status should be provided. Nominations to be considered shall be received prior to July 15 of each year. The induction selection process will be conducted by the Board of Directors. Unconfirmed nominations will be held for future consideration for a period of three years. An induction ceremony will be held during the month of November. We hope to include graduates of Hickman, Firth and Roca. The Alumni Association does not provide its mailing lists or other information to outside organizations for commercial purposes. Any use of these lists for purposes not related to the Norris High School Alumni Association is strictly prohibited.
